Chocolate is Toxic to Pets because it contains  Caffeine & Theobromine: 

Xylitol (sometimes call birch bark extract or wood sugar) is becoming more popular as a sweetener in candies and gum. 

Caffeine & Theobromine, the two substances that can be harmful to dogs and cats

Signs to look for if you think you Pet has injested a toxic amount of chocolate!

Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs.  Small amounts can cause low blood sugar, seizures, liver failure and even death.  

*Vomiting
*Diarrhea
*Seizures
​*Excessive thirst

We can forget how often we might have Chocolate around, Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween, a Birthday or just a special gift can all be wonderful treats for us.  But dangerous for our furry family members.
